The agrarian society of Rural India is centred on the availability of clean water for drinking and irrigation. The prosperity of the entire society is dependent only on the precious natural resource – Water. In recent decades, the water availability from dams and canals have dried up due to unpredictable weather patterns, mainly due to climate change. Many farmers and communities are entirely dependent on groundwater. The sucking of water below the ground sucks money from farmers’ pockets too as the cost of diesel and electricity has gone up to pay for diesel and electricity charges. With the rising cost of diesel and electricity, solar-powered water pumps are the ideal solution for the rural areas as these have a low maintenance cost and a long life.
